Green Smoothies: Start Your Day Off Right!

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, are you eating the right types of food to start your day right? The nutrients that you get from breakfast is what is supposed to help your body stay energized for the rest of the day. So getting a good breakfast is crucial! You need something full of wholesome nutrients that will keep you alert and running at full speed. A green smoothie is a perfect way to do this.

A green smoothie consists of a variety of any type of fruit you like and green vegetables. The darker the green, the more nutritious it is. Spinach is a great green vegetable to put in your smoothies. It doesn’t have much of a taste and is packed with vitamins. kale and chard are also some highly nutritious greens you can also add. Be careful not to add any vegetables that have a very strong taste because it could make the smoothie bitter.

As far as fruit goes, the sky is the limit. You can add any type of fruit you like. I recommend fruits that are very sweet to cover up the taste of the vegetables as best as possible. You can take some time to experiment with different fruits and see which ones you like the best. I have found that bananas, pineapples, berries, and a few other fruits make the best green smoothies.

Your body needs nutrients and when it doesn’t get these nutrients you tend to crave food. These cravings are your body telling you to eat so it can get the vitamins it needs to function properly. Drinking a green smoothie at the beginning of your day gives your body a large amount of the vitamins it needs. Therefore you will crave food less and consume fewer calories every day!

Drinking green smoothies in the morning will provide your body with the whole foods it needs to get through the day. You will be able to tell the difference between a day starting off with a green smoothie rather than a muffin or cereal. You will feel more energized and have a clearer mind.
