With the upcoming equinox, now is a good time to put some attention on creating balance and harmony in your body. As the seasons change this can increase the demands on your health due to the need to adapt to the adjustments in the external elements.
For those in the northern hemisphere, it is a perfect time to undertake a spring cleansing program with a raw food detox diet. After a long winter, most of us have been eating heavier foods and the raw food diet is the perfect antidote. Raw foods help you feel lighter and invigorated while they work to assist with toxin elimination and restoring alkalinity.
If you are in the southern hemisphere the autumn equinox is also a good time to cleanse to support immunity and prepare your body for the cooler weather ahead. However, an autumn cleanse may include more warming foods like broths, soup, and cooked vegetables.
During times of seasonal change, it is also beneficial to support your immunity by focusing on foods with antiviral effects such as pineapple, oranges, mango, coconut, lemon, ginger, and raw honey.
