Juicing for Health and Healing

Juicing fresh fruit and vegetables will be a dramatic change in your lifestyle if you are accustomed to the standard American diet and way of eating. If you regularly eat foods high in saturated animal fat and sodium and/or processed food that comes out of a box, juicing fresh food will be a big departure from your habits, but will the benefits can be tremendous.

If you are honest with yourself and admit that this is the way you eat, but you are at least open-minded about considering some changes, then maybe this short article will help you make a commitment toward a healthier lifestyle. You’ve heard the solid scientific research that clearly links the above-described diet to all sorts of ills, most notably coronary heart disease and obesity. And you don’t want these problems any more than does the next person. But the link is indisputable, so maybe it’s time to make a change.

Raw fruits and vegetables are just bursting with all kinds of vitamins and enzymes that your body loves and craves. Your body does not love and crave the animal fat. Your taste buds might, but that’s a learned response that can be changed.

Do you already have concerns about the health of your arteries? If so, by all means, follow your doctor’s orders regarding medications, etc., and getting exercise, but also seriously consider replacing one of your meals with fresh juice that you have extracted from raw fruits or vegetables. This fresh juice can be an important factor in your healing.

For years, the American Cancer Society has been urging Americans to consume at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. This has been a really in-your-face campaign that they will never give up on because they know the important role these foods play in preventing and even curing a variety of cancers.

Understand that buying juice from the grocery store isn’t good enough. Almost all of that juice has been pasteurized, a heating process that has its useful purpose, but unfortunately destroys a lot of the nutrients. Of course, you could spend loads of money stopping at a trendy juice bar if there is one near you. But the smart thing to do is buy your own juice extractor, so you can have the freshest juice possible every day.

Why not just eat the raw food as it is, you are probably wondering. The reason is that, unlike solid food, juice requires very little digestion to be absorbed by your body. This means that all the great nutrients that have such a beneficial effect on your whole system get going a lot quicker on the great work they do in healing.

So, make the best choice for your health, and add fresh fruit or vegetable juice to your diet every day.
